A NewsCore report on the New York Post‘s website reported earlier that President Obama had arrived in Afghanistan to mark the one-year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden.
“President Obama arrived in Afghanistan Tuesday on an unannounced visit to meet with President Hamid Karzai, TOLONews reported, citing Afghan officials,” the New York Post‘s website read.
But, the same report cautioned, the White House was denying the report. “That report is not accurate and the president is not in Kabul,” an Obama administration reportedly said. Instead, only a “high-level delegation” could be confirmed as having arrived.
The story went on to note:
The president’s official schedule for Tuesday listed no public events, just meetings with senior advisors and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in the Oval Office.
